Bad attitude towards customers re broken goods

I purchased a purse from Truworths N1 city on 29 December, the clip broke off about 2/3 days ago and yesterday I took it to the promenade branch and they told me to take it back to the N1 City branch, however they cannot guarantee that they will take it back, I then decided to take the matter up with a manager, the merchandiser manager and he had such a bad attitude when I told him its not my fault that the purse broke and its not even a month old and in no uncertain terms he said that it will not be exchanged as it is their policy not to exchange accessories but after checking my slip, no where on the slip does it indicate that there are no exhanges on accessories, such bad customer service with bad attitude from a such a big retailer. I was actually disgusted to say the least of the treatment and we don't care attitude from Truworths Promenade. I won't purchase from them ever again even if they are the last store ever. Poor service is not even a word you should use and the fact that I have to walk around with a broken purse even irritates me more. BAD CUSTOMER experience.
