Unhelpful, rude, unacceptable

My husband bought me a earing and necklace gift set for christmas lasy year (2012). Since august 2013 I have noticed the little diamante' stones in the pendant on the necklace beginning to fall out.By now about 30% of these have fallen out. The necklace clasp also broke which I had fixed at my own expense. When I took the item back to Galaxy & Co in the Liberty Mall in Pietermaritzburg I was told that without I slip nothing could be done. Surely even though the item is one year old it is unacceptable for it to be falling apart. I enquired that surely the shop has a policy for gift items that are faulty. The manager was rude and unhelpful and basically told me it was my bad luck! If this is the way you guys do business I will not be supporting you again and will be spreading the word! absolutely disgusting service!
