Unfair treatment of client

I am a regular client at Patputzi - a coffee shop in Linden Gauteng. I recently bought a necklace from them, spoke directly with the manager Ria, who said that should the lady who I bought the gift for not like it, she can exchange it. Not once did she say that the necklace had to be returned in the box it was sold to me, what is more frustrating is that I had to purchace ANOTHER box as the one it was sold in was damaged, scratched and as this was given to the lady as a merit award we could not give it in the original box. I no longer have the box. The lady who was given the box spoke to Ria, after having had to travel to the shop and was told she can not exchange the gift as it was not in the original box. I just phoned Ria and she is not treating me as a client and will not budge on this issue. Her number 011 782 9393
