My fianc? and I purchased a Samsung tv in April 2012. We were told by the salesman at TygerValley, Vincent, that the TV was under a 2 year warranty. A month back, the TV started giving problems, we only received sound, and a picture appeared only 10 minutes after the TV was switched on. Under the impression that the TV was still under warranty, we took the TV into our closest branch, Somerset West. Sharon helped us, and confirmed that the TV had a 2 year warranty. She explained that the TV would be sent to Samsung, and if it could not be repaired it would be replaced. 19 Days later she contacted us to tell us that the TV would cost 4800 to repair, as the LCD panel needs to be replaced, and that unfortunately the TV only had a warranty of 1 year. Keeping in mind my fianc? and I had made sure on the day of purchase that the warranty was in fact for 2 years, we were so promised by the staff at TygerVAlley Game. The fault with the TV is a factory fault, and not one brought on by any negligence on our part. We contacted Sharon asking her to return our TV to us, and were told we would have to fork out an additional 250 to get our broken TV back. This was not explained to us initially!!
