Makro want to credit me R200 for a R600 Drifta

Last month I bought a DSTV PVR decorder and Drifta combo for R1699.99. I then registered the Drifta and had the HD PVR decorder installed. After trying for a few days to install the Drifta on my laptop, without any luck, I went to Multichoice. At Multichoice I was told the Drifta was not compatible with Windows 8. I went back to Makro where I was told they could not credit me, because it was was a combo deal... After consulting with their supervisors I was told to de-register the decorder and bring it in, with the Drifta. They will then give me a HD PVR decorder, at R1499.00 and pay me R200 for the Drifta, but they sell the Drifta's for R599.99. But I can get a decorder for R1100.00 at Hi Fi Corporation. And then I still have to get people in again to install the new decorder...
I'm losing out big time, because they didn't advice me that the Drifta would not work with me laptop!!!
When I bought the combo, nobody asked me if I had a laptop with Windows 8 on it...
