Still awaitng replacement - 6 weeks late

Morning, we purchased a bed from the above mentioned store a few months ago. A few months later, we noticed the base was damaged. We logged a complaint, and an inspector came to view the base. He confirmed the damage and said the store would be in contact. They were and told us we would get a new base that week (first or second week of September). When we called to follow up, we were told there was no stock.
So is it safe to assume that for 4 weeks, you have had no stock in ANY of your stores or warehouses??? It's funny how the stock is readily available for new sales but not for replacements and what is more disgusting is that no one has bothered to call back to offer any apology for the delay or inconvenience you are causing.
There is something called a consumer protection act - and this is to prevent customers who pay a lot of money for decent goods and decent service - yet, i am yet to see either - apart from the inspector who was most friendly and efficient.
