Truworths
Bad service

I have received poor service from the Vaal Mall branch of Truworths on various occasions. It regularly happens that one is left standing in a long line at the cashiers. But Saturday the 28th of September 2013 was the last straw. It was a Saturday, and it was the end of the month and there must have been about 30 people waiting in line at the cashiers. After patiently waiting in line for some time I approached one of the staff members and asked to speak to the manager. The manager was nowhere in sight and had to be called. Finally, after quite a while the manager came sauntering up to the cashiers. When I asked why there were only three cashiers helping clients while there was in fact 6 pay points available he responded that the rest was on lunch. I then asked why he would send the so many staff members on lunch while there was clear a need for them, and secondly, why were they on lunch at 15:00 in the afternoon. I then asked if there was any way he could get someone to help out at the pay points. At this point the manager, Mr Edvin Malihle, changed his story and said in fact he had no staff available and that there was nothing he could do. I found his manner to be very unhelpfull.
