I am a frequent shopper at Edgars in Northgate Mall. There are only 4 till points with 2 cashiers. On Saturday 28/09/13, I waited 55 minutes in a queue of 15 people. From the 2 cashiers 1 could only take cash / debit card and the other could process on account. From that queue only 1 customer purchased with cash. We were not notified of any delay until I asked what is taking so long, then there was an announcement for customers to be patient as the systems were down. When I eventually got to the till point, I paid my account for more than what i purchased and due to the system been offline I had to pay in extra. I asked to see a manager and the cashier said that there was nothing the manager could do, I should just leave the goods as I cannot purchase and so the manager came and told me the same thing. The service from the cashiers and the manager was pathetic. This is a weekly issue at Northgate Edgars, and I am not the only customer from that queue that was complaining. The Manager and staff should all be trained on Customer Service and People Skills. It is totally unacceptable to be waiting for that long because they are under staffed.
