EFT payment not reflecting

I paid an EFT as my account payment for September tothe account number supplied on my monthly statement and it's not reflecting after 4 working days. I spent about 2 hours with the run around trying to get to the bottom of this matter because my account is now in arrears. It's really frustrating because my credit record is at stake here. I was referred from one person to another and apparently this is not the account number I was supposed to use. All I need is help and for someone to assist me to trace the amount because it went through and I paid to the correct account number. I am really not pleased with the level of service considering I have been a customer for 8 years now. No one seems to clued up on what to do or at least try and listen to my query. I am really frustrated and upset.
