Boardmans
Cashier had bad attitude

Shops, Products, Services

My wife and I went to the Boardmans shop in Clearwater mall (in Roodepoort) on Friday 26 July 2013 at around 17:30 to buy the new Nespresso Latisimo machine. We had some Edgars vouchers (to the value of about R800) which we presented as part of the payment.

The lady behind the counter was very helpful and when the vouchers didn't go through she explained that she thinks the system is offline and she cannot process the vouchers. She then called the male cashier to ask him and to see if he can assist.

He also tried to process the vouchers and in one sentence explained that indeed the system is offline and that it is not his problem. He was quite abrasive. Without getting into an argument we left the store and rather purchased the item from @Home.

In my view the male cashier was not trained at all to handle the situation and could simple have said "I do apologise but our system is offline. Perhaps come back tomorrow". Instead he said "Our system is offline and it is not my problem. You can come back tomorrow".

As a customer how would you respond to this?

We will never enter a boardmans store ever again. We will also inform Nespresso of this incident.
