Shocking Delivery Methods

Shops, Products, Services

I purchased small items of furniture from the store and asked the sales person if these items were kept on the premises in order to take them home with me. I was then told that no stock was kept at the store and that I had 2 options, I could pay R400 for delivery of the items or pick the items up fro a warehouse in Centurion using my own vehicle. I decided that I would pick up the items from Centurion over the weekend but was then told that the warehouse was only open on weekdays. I have just received a call from someone at the warehouse saying that if I did not pick my items up in a week, I would be charged a STORAGE FEE
I do part- time interior decor and deal with large design/furniture stores and have never been forced into arrangements as ridiculous as this. As a consumer, when I opt to pick my items up, i should at least be given a reasonable opportunity to fetch my goods. I feel like i am being forced (as a working professional with a 8am - 5pm job) to take time off from my work week to fetch furniture
Can I ask that you amend your procedures and just be reasonable!
I see that this is not the first complaint regarding your delivery methods. Says a lot!!!
