Furniture City
Taking money but not giving the goods

In November 2012 we went to Furniture City in Menlyn as a newly wed couple to ensure our new home was furnished with items we wanted to surround ourselves with. From our side we went prepared, all our documentation was present and we were able to pick our items from the floor and we obtained approval before we left the store. From there on out, everything went south.

The warehouse on numerous occasions delivered incorrect items. 4 Separate deliveries were made of which 2 was to exchange severely damaged items, which we were told use until they could fix the situation and replace with the correct items.

It is now 3 months down the line and we are still in possession of a couch we did not purchase. Every attempt to engage with their branch and warehouse is met with hostility and poor customer service.

All we wanted was the couch we purchased but the lack of customer service and extremely poor manners of their operational staff has forced us to waive off 2 of our friends from doing business with them.

We would not encourage anybody to engage with Furniture CIty purely because of their shocking business ethics.
