Approximately four weeks ago my DSTV PVR started displaying an error. I took the decoder to our local Multichoice agency and they said that the decoder's hard drive was faulty. They then indicated that they will send it back to their head office and it will most probably be replaced. This will take about 7 working days.
On Friday the 5th of July 2013 I went to collect the new decoder as the old one could not be repaired. I connected the new decoder and it worked fine for about half an hour. After that the signal would fall away momentarily and then return. This continued throughout the weekend. On Saturday I phoned the dealer and they sent someone to have a look at it.
On Monday they sent out another technician and he informed me that our dish has to be replaced. It did not make sense to me and I phoned Multichoice. They informed me that this is not true.
On Tuesday my sister took the decoder in for repairs. She received extremely bad service. After a fight with the supplier they are now refusing to send the decoder for repairs and they have disconnected our service.
