I received 2 sms's from DSTV over the weekend informing me that my account of R60 has not been payed and that my service was going to be disconnected. Also that a reconnection fee of R50 would then apply.

I did a payment of R40 at the beginning of December. The last statement that I received did not reflect that payment. I then emailed DSTV with a proof of payment and received a reply stating that they recognise the payment but that an incorrect reference has been used. I used the primary account number as a payment reference.

It is extremely frustrating that after nearly 2 months a payment has not been allocated to the correct account. Also very upsetting is the fact that a payment with reference to an account number which is boldly printed on a statement cannot be traced back to the correct account.

And lastly after communication has occurred with a client and your accounts department has committed to resolving the issue, why on earth do you have to threaten your client?
