Will never rent offices again from M & T

My company rented offices from M&T Development for two years in Pretoria. When we moved in, we redid the whole office at our expense of R60 000. At the end of June we moved out. With the hand-over of the key I requested the caretaker to please inform me of what they need repaired so that we can get 'n contractor to do this, which he assure me about. We subsequently e-mail several people at M&T with the same request. After enquiring what the progress is a month or so after we moved out, we were informed that the deposit will be refunded soon.

Last week we saw a significantly reduced amount refunded. After enquiring we were told that an amount of R15000 was deducted from the deposit for several repairs done to the office. Explaining to them that we requested to do the repairs ourselves didn't seem to mean anything to them. When asked if this meant that we just lost R15 000 we were responded to with laughter.

Unbelievable! This is no laughing matter to me. We entrusted them with two months of rent and they half of it. I have a good mind spending R30 000 to get the R15 000 out of them. Have never been done in like this before.
