Lumic Property Consultants, is currently managing the complex that I stay in Katara in Midrand. On 30 June 2013, I accidential paid money into their account, which was due for rent. Previously we paid money for water and electricity directly into the body corporate account which Lumic administers. Upon realisation of my error I then called Lumic and spoke to Mich-Lene who then informed me that she would have to speak to her MD Michelle Persson as they needed authorisation from the trustees to refund my money. All this started on 4th July 2013. I then sent them correspondence requesting that they refund the money directly into the rental agents account and Michelle then claimed that she had not received any proof that the money was actually mine and therefore would make levy deductions on the assumption that the money was actually paid in by the owner as he owned levies on the property. Needless to say, I sent them proof of payment that came directly from my account as proof that the money actually belonged to me. Of the R7000, Lumic paid over into the rental agents account as total amount of R5364.58.
