Dear HI-FI Corp /Customer Service Team,
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the shocking service I received after taking out a store contract for an iPhone 16 Pro.
At the point of sale, I was not properly informed of the store’s policies, cancellation process, or any additional costs associated with the contract. To make matters worse, extra charges were added to my account without my consent or approval, which I find completely unacceptable and unethical.
What makes this experience even more frustrating is that I was never provided with a receipt for the device. When I attempted to insure the phone, I encountered major difficulties as I had no official documentation to validate the purchase. Upon returning to the store to resolve this issue, I was met with indifference and unhelpful staff who insisted that I pay a handling fee and that it was my “responsibility” to read the online terms and conditions — despite never being advised of them at the point of sale.
The unauthorised additional charges total over R6,900, on top of the agreed contract fees. This is completely unacceptable and has caused me significant inconvenience, frustration, and financial strain.
This entire experience has been deeply disappointing and has completely eroded my trust in your company’s integrity and customer service standards. Based on this ordeal, I would strongly advise others not to take any products or services from your store until these issues are addressed and transparency is prioritised.
I expect this matter to be investigated urgently, with a full explanation and refund of all unauthorised charges, as well as confirmation that proper corrective action will be taken to prevent similar incidents in future.
