Volkswagen
Pricing Ripoff

Miscellaneous

Ever had that bitter, sour taste when you walk out of a shop knowing that you have been treated as a fool and royally ripped off?
I took my VW Chico into the Hatfield VW place in Bryanston for a service and some repairs.
One of the items they charged me was R31.83 (VAT) for a 80 AMP battery fuse. OK, no big deal. But, to fit the fuse I was charged a whopping R140 (VAT) which, according to the invoice represents 1/5th of an hour's labour (12 minutes) to remove the old fuse and replace it with the new one. No screwdrivers necessary, no spanners, no rocket scientists, no brain surgeons. As simple as pulling out a wall plug and pushing another one in. Even my mechanically challenged daughters could achieve this in less than 30 seconds. Beware VW users. They see you coming.
