Seriously? This is the quality I'm getting?

I took my top-of-the range VW Tiguan in to Barons Pmb for what I thought was going to be a simple repair - my cigarette lighter fuse kept on blowing.

I had thought about either fixing it myself or sending it to one of the local auto electricians for a cheap fix, but really, this is an expensive car and I wanted the quality of workmanship to be beyond reproach and warrantee retained so decided to bite the bullet and book it in.

After paying a grand for the job I tested the operation of the cigarette lighter plugs, one out of four worked.

I looked under the dash to see what the technician had done and then got the in. The who worked on my car could obviously not find the fault, so had cut into the wiring loom - put a piece of random colour code wire from the fuse box to the front lighter plug and tie strapped it to an aircon duct under the dashboard. This damaged the loom beyond repair and places the vehicle in all sorts of danger.

I complained about the service the next day and took it back in - only to be quoted over 4 grand for the "cheaper" repair option and >R50k for the other, costs for my account.

This is the last time I or any of my friends will use this deale
