We have been experiencing problems with our DSTV for months now. And since then I've been to Multichoice and back to the installer however I am not getting the problem resolved.
We are going onto the Festive season now and I feel I am paying for services in which I am not receiving in entirety.

In April 2013, installer (V Sat) replaced my LNB, then in Sept/Oct 2013 they were out again for the re-alignment of my dish. After 2-3 weeks the problem still persisted and I had called the installers however they advised me that there was a problem with the decoder. We have taken it to Multichoice, they tested it and found no problem. We lived with the problem the whole of November and in December we had no choice to call V Sat again, they checked and charged us the call out fee but fixed nothing. They told us the problem with the decoder. We took it to Multichoice, and convinced them to give us a brand new decoder.

After connecting the decoder, the problem still persists. We aren't receiving channels such as Universal, Studio Universal, TLC, Food network, Mzone, etc. I do understand that the weather also permits the channels going off. But unlike most people ours stays off.
