In-hospital Care charged from Savings???

I have a Classic Saver Plan from Discovery health - and to my understanding, all in-hospital charges are covered up to 200% and not drawn from my savings.

Last November, my wife was sent to Mulbarton Hospital, in which she stayed for 2 days. Check through the billing, discovery paid for everything in full, until the final bill arrived from Mulbarton Hospital itself. For reasons unexplained, Discovery tried to play this bill from my Savings (which hadn't reset for the new year yet) and, of course, I passed the threshold.

More than this - a lady from Mulbarton Hospital phoned my yesterday, in FEBRUARY, asking me why my account is 90 days in arrears. I asked her to send the invoice, an lo-and-behold, I have a bill for over R2500... unpaid because of my savings threshold... for IN HOSPITAL CARE???

Someone please explain how this happened?
