You pay your medical aid every month. BUT???

My wife was in a car acc in Dec 2012. To my disgrace in Jan 2013 i was sent a bill from the hospital for the amount of R10 000.00 for me to pay. I then phoned the hospital and asked what was going on? I was referred back to discovery. Discovery then told me if you are not admitted to hospital and do not spend the night they to not pay. REALLY. After a long fight Discovery said they will pay. Now i receive a bill from the hospital for R6000.00 again [referred to Discovery. Sill they say if your are not submitted to hospital they will not pay. Now how is this they do not inform you of this when they sell you the plan, they are quick to take there money every month. But when they are to pay they just say you were not admitted sorry. I now was referred to Ex-Gratia. they now want my statement to check if can afford the R6000.00. I mean why do you have a hospital plan if they do not even cover hospital invoices. I mean my wife was in hospital i do not have the equipment at home to do the test. Other wise i would have don so. It would have cost me cheaper than paying a medical aid every month. And in the mean while i get a name for having moneys outstanding. COME TO THE PARTY.
