Wont accept my son on medical aid

I am changing jobs and have been on a medical aid all my life. My stepson has been on my medical aid since he was 2 years old and he is now a full time student at university aged 19. I support him and he lives with me full time but since his mom and I have been divorced for 7 years they wont allow him onto my medical aid since I am not his legal guardian. Old Mutual didnt have a problem and I have been on tehir staff sceme for years. The result is that Discovery has lost a new prospective client for their top plan because since underwriting wont accept him they wont be getting my daughters and me either!
