Membership Termination

I am very disappointed in Discovery Medical Aid concerning my daughter who has been on my medical aid since the year 2000. 13 Long years. In this year, I re-married & moved onto my husband's Discovery plan leaving her as the main member on my previous scheme. Membership no: 069453310. She was having difficulty in paying her premiums as she was working on a commission only basis & was not paid a salary. She did not want to burden us by telling us this, as over the years, I have been paying & paying for everything on my own as a non professional single mom. She called Discovery to tell them this & to say when she would make payment to catch up. Without any notification, just before she wanted to pay, her membership was terminated & as it now turns out, she is pregnant. She has tried to go onto her boyfriend's medical aid & they have been told the pregnancy will not be covered. In light of the number of years we have been on the medical aid, I just think this is most unfair of Discovery Medical Aid. It's so hard for young people to find their way in life, with jobs, cars etc... when they are not even given a chance to find themselves.
