10 mins after checking into our rooms the electricity when out, we then enquiried about the problem only to be told that it is a common problem when there is wind storm. We then asked how long will the problem last as we have been travelling for 15 hours from Mozambique with two children and needed to refresh ourselves and have supper. Ingrid indicated that the power will come on shortly. We waited for an hour with no assistance from the staff with regards to candles or backup power. When we checked with Ingrid, she still had no answer and was not supportive in make our stay comfortable at the Border Country Inn. We decided to check out within the same hour and ask for a refund. We were willing to pay a service fee for the hour we spend sitting and waiting for the electricity. Ingrid confirmed she cannot give us and answer and needed to contact the owner in the morning. Upon handing the keys the same night we were given one candle for two rooms and were also told that the owner contacted Ingrid and said that she will not refund the money and is not accountable for Eskom's problem. We then contact Mrs H Coetzee (owner) twice and left messages and todate she has not responded.
