My son was admitted to hospital on the the week around 12 of december 2012. all service providers that were used submitted claims to my medical aid which is BOnitas and they were paid. in June I recieved a letter from ampath syaing that I owed them R2381.70. i then contacted them immediately, I was told the claim had been submited to Prime Cure and then they realised late that the claim was submitted to the wrong medical aid. I am not on prime cure medical aid and had never been, how come that other claims were sumbitted to my correct m
I then called my medical and indeed around the time my medical aid did recive cliams from ampath of which they were paid... however this one they had not recived it. Ampath had only submitted this claim in April which was four months after the service date and my medical aid did not pay it because they policy states that service providers must bill the medical aid within the 4 months of service. I then contacted Ampath and told the call center person that ok as much as this was not my fault i will pay the amount by R500 until its done... the next thing my account has been handed over to lawyers. i must say im very sad and dissapointed by Ampat
