CLAIMING WRONG DEPENDANTS CHARGED VIA HEALTHBRIDGE

Our practice has recently been put in a very bad light as a direct result of Discovery Health's (DH) incompetence, constantly informing patients that we bill the incorrect dependants as the reason for slow processing of claims, leaving us to deal with VERY unhappy patients. The confirmation we receive from Healthbridge that the claim was submitted correctly (which clearly proves the on-going mistakes are made by DH), has to be forwarded to patients and DH on almost a daily basis to prove our innocence. Their never-minded call centre attitude when querying such issues is appalling. "Don't worry, we still have time, just send us the confirmation" still leaves us to deal with angry patients. Their failing system costs us time, money (to send claims a 2nd time) & unnecessary effort! DH is the only medical aid we have this problem with & we are not the only practice complaining. Upon submitting a claim where one of twins was listed as a patient, the DH consultant informed me that they see this as a nightmare, despite printing the patient's name and dependant code on the bill. Their systems & internal confusion leave much to be desired & blaming others for their incompetence
