Engineering design flaw not covered by warranty

Purchased Elegance airconditioner less than one year ago. Outlet pipe is made of a plastic that deteriorates rapidly in the sun and crumbles. This part is integral to the functioning of the unit as it conveys hot air to the outside of the building. However they refuse to replace the part under warranty, claiming it is an 'accessory'. It is not just an accessory, it is integral to the functioning of the unit, and it is a clear failure on the part of their product development team to specify the correct materials able to withstand solar radiation.

I do not recommend this brand.
