On 29/05/13, I purchased a new lg 60" plasma tv from Stax Fourways. On 23/10/13, after an hour of viewing, the picture disappeared and vertical lines appeared.

I left the unit off for an hour and then switched on again. After another hour the same thing occurred. I called Stax and was advised to "book the unit in" with lg. This was a battle. I then went to Stax the next day and Tony at Stax contacted lg and made the booking.

The technicians came on 28/10/13 to arrange a visit to check on the problem. He checked the unit and said that the "main board was faulty> He said that this would be replaced at my residence as he will get such part from lg. The technician arrived at 1:30 on 30/10/13 to replace part. To my disgust, the "new part" was in a worse damaged condition to the original unit. I'm of the opinion that I purchased substandard lg product.

Is this lg's standard of professionalism? I will never buy nor recommend an lg product to anybody in the future

There is no communication with the customer. Their customer service needs much to be desired They did not even contact me to advise when or what is going on. It is 16h00, 31/108/13 and still no response.
