Went to kia vereeeniging in january to purchase a car, kia rio 1.4. i was asked to put in a holding deposit of R2000 as there was a vehicle that was already coming to the dealership. the very same afternoon, i told the salesperson that i'll be going for the kia rio tec instead. he then told me that i'll have to wait for about 2/3 months as the waiting list is long. i told him it's not a problem i don't mind waiting. he refused to listen to me, i then approached another dealership where i got the car i wanted. so i canceled the purchase with them. the salesman called me the day before i was to collect my car to try and convince me to cancel that purchase, and i told him i was not about to do that. after getting my car at the dealership i went back to kia vereeniging to get my money, and to this day, they refuse. saying they want to be compensated. spoke to the manager of the dealership, havent been successful. approached kia motors sa, still nothing from them. according to the national credit act, a holding deposit is unheard of and is an illegal practice
