POOR QUALITY VEHICLES

Cars & Transport

I have bought a 2012 CHEV UTILITY 1.8 BASE A/C in Nov 2012 from Westvaal.
The door rubbers are coming loose at only 3000km, assessed at first check service.
The radio however is the most frustrating.
Its a "factory fitted" Soundvox which is nothing but rubbish. I see its a Chinese make.
I paid R3500 extra for nothing.

First, the radio was set on american frequencies. After a book-in, it was set.
At the moment, the radio`s sound (when on FM radio) goes dead and comes back, goes dead and comes back. Its sooo frustrating.
When I want to repeat a track in CD mode, it goes to a track before/after the one selected.
Today was the last when the supposedly impressive screen just went dead!!
At the 15000km service, the radio plus the door rubbers WILL BE REPLACED by a completely new one, otherwise I will keep on writing reports. I will book it with Barloworld Menlyn in Pretoria.
No surprise to see Chevrolet coming a stone dead last in customer satisfaction in the Car magazine.
When VW launches their new small pickup, Im going to trade my American rubbish for German quality, even if it costs a lot more.
American scrap combined with Chinese scrap! At least the engine&chassis are still Opel.
