I called around for quotes this morning to replace the rear shocks on my wife's car. Most places were more or less the same price, between R2k and R2.3k.

The manager of Car Service City eventually got back to me and wanted R5.1k for the parts and R1.2k for labor... R6.3k in total? R4k more than the second most expensive! On top of this, he acted surprised when I told him he was out of his mind.

Please ignore all the pamphlets these guys spam you with at every single traffic light in Johannesburg. They are just out to rip you off. I have had previous experience with other branches, and it was exactly the same thing.

If you value your hard earned money, AVOID!!
