Mercedes-Benz South Africa
Poor service and lack of accountability

Cars & Transport

After having brought in my car which is on motor plan to Merc Sandton to have the shocks replaced I was told they did not have the equiment to test shocks and therfore could not replace them. At my expense I obtained an independent report regarding my shocks from Speedy which reflected that there is 0% functionality on the front shocks and 33% functionality on the rear. I contacted jan Fritz one week befor ethe date my car was booked in for its service requesting him to order the parts so thart my shocks could be replaced. He insisted we contact the call centre as he was not able to use the independent report. After much hassle with the call centre and repeated conversations with Regina we heard from Jan that the parts were ordered. I dutifully delivered the vehicle and afte ONE FULL day was told that they did not have the machine to test the shocks and would need to email the report through to Mercedez for their authorisation. This is a circular conversation. How does Merc firstly not have the equipment to test shocks, secondly how can they aftre having viewed the report from Speedy not fix the shocks as the vehicle is currently not safe to drive.
