Ford
Light Bulb Change

Cars & Transport

Hi, on Wednesday 21.08.2013 I went to Ford Kempton to have my head light light bulbs changed.
I arrived at around half 7 am and signed in car and the assistant informed me that the parts department only opened at 8am and that I had to wait. Round 8:30 am I received a quote that the change would cost round R 620.00.
By 9:30 am I was informed that they were still busy with my car as they were replacing clips on the bumper. Just after 10 am I was called in to pay the bill and was utterly shocked that I was being asked to pay R 765.52, for a light bulb change.
The first thing that I do not understand is how it took two hours to complete the light bulb change and replace four clips.
I was at the dealership before they even opened and many people had come and gone already.
The next thing is that I do not believe at all that it is reasonable to charge me R 480.00 labour for changing light bulbs. The total labour works out to more than double the price of the parts.
The reason for the price I received from the dealership is that my car is complicated. I own a Ford KA.
In my mind I cannot find any justified reason to charge so much, please can someone perhaps assist with reason?
