I was told to go to another place for help

I bought a spitronic unit from Ian, and he said to if I struggle that I can call him for help, but now I have been told that I must take it to a place called supatune, that means now I have to pay another party for help, I don't understand this, because the guy that recommended that I go to them said to me that he was told if he has a problem he can bring the car there.
