I JAMES HOPKINS am disappointed with SERVICES provided by Multichoice. Previously, many years ago, when my previous decoder became faulty I took the unit to Multichoice Customer Care Centre. On arrival I was informed that the decoder model was no longer supported and Multichoice replaced the unit with a newer model Unit DSD 990 (U500753225 X 5). The person from Multichoice that was assisting me recommended that I take out insurance which I immediately did. Over the past weekend the unit became faulty and after a telephone call on Sunday morning to the call centre it was recommended that I take the unit to an agent or bring it to the Customer Call Centre in Randburg. Today I took the unit to Randburg and I was told by the attendant that I did not have insurance. On my request that Multichoice provide me with the necessary documentation where I requested that the insurance be cancelled Multichoice was unable to provide me with the documentation. A new unit then cost me R499.00 to replace the old unit. I do not know when the insurance was cancelled or why but for years I have always had the warm feeling that I was covered.
