I was absolutely appalled to receive a phone call from Tsepo Avis OR Thambo at 20h36 to inform me that the vehicle I returned at 13h48 was damaged. After arriving at OR Thambo at 9am I collected a Polo from Avis. I inspected the car - which was filthy - and found some scratches on the bodywork. At the exit they noted the damage, and the lady who helped 1. Told me that scratches arent really a big deal, but she'll mark them up and 2. She couldnt believe how dirty the vehicle was. Happy that she noted it on my contract I went off to my meeting. When I returned the vehicle I waited for a gentleman to inspect the vehicle. I told him about the notes made and tried to give him the contract but after a walk around the car he explained that there was no damage so I could leave. Now Avis want to charge me for the damage? One has to wonder what happened with the vehicles in the 7hr period after dropping it off? I'm absolutely disgusted by their service all round, especially their so-called "Customer Care"!!
