Delays in refunding my deposits and blame games

Hello Peter.
I rented a car from Avis and returned it on the! 2 July 2013 at the same place. I left for the US and returned on the17 July. Upon arrival i went straight to Avis to rent another car since i don't have a car to drive myself home with my luggage. When i rented the second car i asked for my previous deposit but the guy at my service blamed my bank (FNB). I informed him that i have already contacted FNB upon arrival in person and they even showed me on their system that no money reflected as pending. The gentlemen assisting me promised to do a follow up and also promised to send me an email with full details of my transaction but 4 days later nothing has happened. I've just returned the second car yesterday the 22nd on departure to India and i doubt if i ll will have both my deposits back wen i land back on Wed the 24th. I would like to keep on renting from them but with this kinda service i don't see myself affording to pay deposits all the time when they are holding my money. Please help
