DONT BELIEVE IT WHEN THEY CLAIM TO TRY HARDER

I recently booked a car through Avis when I spent a long weekend in Cape Town. I was told that I would get the excess on the insurance back when the car is returned safely. Upon my arrival at Cape Town Int airport, I went to Avis and in the first place the car I booked wasnt available. I had to settle for "similar". Received a Hyandai with a broken driver seat. Anyway, then I was told about the R 1000 fuel levy which I would get back if the car is returned with a full tank. I returned the car but of course I was told that it would be paid into my account 4 days later. That never happened. When I queried this with "customer care" I was messed around. One told me he contacted my bank and they told him "no funds are pending from Avis". Ever since then I cannot get hold of any person at "customer care" The secreatry promises they will call back but they dont. They "try harder" - nonsense!!! They take your money and you dont get it back
