Renault South Africa
Poor quality parts and service

Cars & Transport

My fiance and I we bought a GT liner Megane last year in August. The car was brand new and it has only went once for a service. In March (2013) this year, we were on the high way and trying to change the gear and the car did not want to go to the gear and it stopped. We were nearly hit by the cars that were coming behind us. I was with my husband and my new born baby, i will never forget the trauma that we had on that day. The car was then towed to Renault in Midrand for assessment. We were then told that it was the clutch problem it was burnt and to replace it we will have to pay R10 000. We couldnt believe the outcomes of the assessment as we have owned 2 cars before for 5 yrs (Mazda 2 and Polo) and we never had any clutch problems. We paid the amount for the replacement of the clutch. This week on Monday i.e.4 June 2013 when we parked the car in the garage there was a burning smell coming from the car and we decided to take it back 2 Renault in Midrand to be checked. We were then told by the Floor manager Rewan that the car has a clutch problem again and we must pay for another R10 000. Really now where must we get that money and how long we have to pay this money, wil it end?
