Renault South Africa
A little weird

Miscellaneous

Hi

Last week I took my car for a service and upon collection of the car, I was told that the clutch was 'sticky' and that the clutch cable had been replaced. Yesterday whilst stuck in traffic, the clutch broke suddenly. I had the car towed in and this morning I was advised that the clutch is not covered under warranty as the car is older than 3 years and that I need to now pay R9000 to repair the car. I had no problems with my clutch and I did not ask them to look at it, I took the car for a service expecting nothing more.

I asked Gloudina this morning whether it is possible that when the clutch cable was replaced that something went wrong causing my clutch to go. She advised that this is not the case. I then phoned 2 other Renault branches and spoke to the service managers who assured me that this is a possibility.

I just got a phone call from Johan telling me that actually no the clutch cable wasn't replaced at all and he doesn't know why they would tell me that. I could clearly feel that there was work done on my clutch since getting the car back. And why did I have to pay R1650 for a service if the website says R590 1 hour labor. R1000 p/h!?

Something is not right here!
