Informed byRenault Clutch Cables break 1t 48000km'

Cars & Transport

My Renault Cabriolet's clutch started shuddering at 48000km's. When we took the car in to Renault Vereeniging we were told that this is what happens to Renault (told by the Parts Manager). We had to replace it at a cost of - R8K. Only to find out later that Renault Vereeniging could have contacted Renault South Africa for assistance as this is abnormal and we would get compensated for it. Thereafter, my final service was done and the cam belt was not replaced or was I informed to pop back 3 weeks later to replace the cam belt. That then cost me R5K. I complained and was promised R1800 towards it which immediately makes you think that the whole amount should have been covered. BTW been promised this R1800 for 2 months now and still received nothing - contacted Renault South Africa today again. Paid a premium to get rid of both Renaults we owned as there is no trade in value and the services are ridiculously expensive but now proud owners of 2 x brand new BMW's, Due to the clutch cable and cam belt costing me so much money and not getting compensated I will continue telling possible Renault buyers my story.
