Quoted one price and charged anothe

I called Courier-It Jhb branch and asked for a price to send a cable which is in a box roughly the size of a pack of cigarettes from Benoni, Jhb to Windhoek, Namibia, the consultant double checked the size with me and confirmed that it was not documents and I confirmed that it was not docs and instead a cable.

She worked out the price and told me it would be R280 and some cents. I then quoted my customer in Windhoek, who accepted the quote, and paid me the money for the shipping. I then sent it 2 to 3 days later. After it was sent I then received an invoice from Courier-It for R530! I immediately called and was put through to Samantha Kannemeyer who told me that I was charged more because the parcel was 40cm x 30cm x 11cm which is absolute horse s*%$t.
The item I sent was no where near this size, but I'm not getting any joy from them in accepting their mistake and so I have no choice but to voice my experience so that others can be aware of this pulling sizes-from-thin-air business and double check their invoices carefully, as this is not the first time this happened to me with courier it!
