Quoted one price, forced to pay anothe

I had a package to send a customer in the Northern Cape, got the quote for a specific amount and relayed that to my client. He accepted and agreed to pay the courier fee that was quoted on receiving the parcel. The next thing I know is that he was contacted (after the parcel was collected) and told that he had to pay more because he is in an outlying area that is not covered by them, a difference of R 106.00 incl. VAT. Now they tell me the system had a glitch, and yes, contrary to what was quoted and agreed upon, the customer has to pay the hiked price to receive the package. My main concern is that then surely any quoted price is a 'farce', it means nothing to them to quote you anything, and then charge you a different amount afterwards. The thing is, I quoted my client according to their quote to me (trusting in their proficiency) and gets made a fool of when it turns out that the price is a lot more, i.e. I don't know what I'm doing. I take serious affront to that. The amount is not the real issue, ethics and accountability is, and surely a professional company will accept their mistake and be willing to compromise.
