KFC
R200 by Cashie

Cafes, Bars, Restaurants

I went to the Irene (Nellmapius Rd, near the Route 21 Corporate Park) branch of KFC on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at approx 9:00am for a cup of coffee. I gave the cashier a new R200 note and apologised for the large denomination saying it was the only cash I had with me, She said no problem, then gave me my cup of coffee and change for R20. I told her that I'd given her R200. She said that it was a R20. The manager investigated, but my R200 could not be found (the cashier had obviously hidden it somewhere). Security footage was inconclusive. So, I had my money by the KFC cashier and had absolutely no proof. I will not be returning to KFC. It's not the money (even though I am unemployed and could really use R200), but the principle: I object to being robbed by what is supposed to be a reputable international corporation. I hope that my lost business and the negative publicity is worth R200 to them.
I complained on [URL Removed] but haven't had a response from KFC. Either they don't care or they get 1000s of complaints daily and haven't gotten to mine yet.
