Tony's was, until last night, a very special place for us. We have been avid regulars, which is now going on for four years. Last night we again went there but were treated with utter disdain - We had finished our starters and were busy with a bottle of wine and had ordered our mains. We left our table for a smoke break. When we got back to our table we found it had been taken over by 4 other people who previously had been seated on the couches. There were 6 empty tables they could have used, but instead they took over our table. Despite the fact that our table was obviously still occupied, our unfinished wine still on the table. My husband requested the other diners to please use another table as we were still busy with ours. Bheki then came across and explained the situation to them as well. Eventually the manager, Deon Botha, came across because of the argument. Deon also asked them to move but nothing happened. Next thing Deon told us we had to move! The entire incident was terribly upsetting and very unpleasant, and as the manager, Deon should have handled this in a professional and reasonable manner. This is utterly unacceptable. We were humiliated. We won't ever return.
