I was there during lunch time and paid for my order with my debit card. R42.50. The transaction went through and I got the SMS notification but the device didn't print a receipt. They insisted that I pay again. They also insisted that I bring them an official statement from ABSA so that they can see that the transaction went through so that they can refund me. They refused to give me a ticket or slip or anything as proof that I was there. I was there to get FAST FOOD on my way to a meeting, and I won't be in the city again for quite some time. I didn't have time to go to ABSA, stand in a queue, get a statement, and then walk back. I feel extremely abused and powerless, and had to leave without food and them with my money. Their devices not working should be THEIR problem and not mine. But they made it mine and refused to engage in any conversation (I know those devices keep history etc, so you can reprint) about it except that I had to get a statement.
