PPS
Delaying of claim payout

Business & Finance

I have been a paying client of PPS for more than 10 years. I had an eye operation in March 2013 and for the first time had to claim as I was unable to perform my duties at work for a week and a half. This note serves to make other PPS clients who may not have claimed before, as well as individuals who are thinking of joining PPS aware of what happens when you finally need to claim some of your contributions back (in my case a minute portion).

I completed and submitted all the necessary forms on time (twice for some reason). The doctor also did a submission around 12 April 2013. The website stipulates that claims will be assessed and paid within a week. It has now been two and a half weeks and today I heard from them for the first time, requiring ANOTHER form with similar information required. Apparently the doctor also has to supply additional information. This appears to be a delaying tactic as the information I now have to supply for the third time at a very late stage is not going to provide them with anything they do not already have.

Call center cannot connect to claims. What will happen should one need their assistance in case of something more serious?
