I have contributed to an Absa Flexi -Funeral Plan since 6 June 2003. As I took early retirement in March 2011, I now decided to revisit all my accounts and on reading the Policy of the previously mentioned Funeral Plan, I was amazed to find that should anything happen to me and I passed away, my daughter who is the beneficiary of this Funeral Plan, would not even be able to purchase a coffin for me, taking into account the tremendous increase in costs as far as funerals were concerned.
I have been to several Absa Branches in my vicinity to try and CANCEL the Funeral plan, but to no avail. I was shown from counter to counter, queue to queue, and did I end up every time with CUSTOMER SERVICES who was not willing to assist with this matter!
Today, the 8th April 2013, I decided, enough is enough and visited my own Absa Branch namely MENLYN! I approached a lady who was on the telephone, asking me what she could do for me, only to be referred to Customer Service. Here a cashier informed me that the Branch cannot CANCEL my policy and that I had to PHONE ABSA LIFE in order to confirm my request for can
