I was changing my policy and the call centre person also asked me if you would like a quote on credit insurance. i.e. not life cover just credit insurance. One of the questions asked was if I'm HIV positive by the call centre person. (Not a trained HIV councillor, just a call centre person)

I thought that HIV status was in fact private and don't have to be divulge to any third parties.

Is this a standard question from Outsurance, and what about the person who is positive, will they be discriminated against because they are? (Remember this is credit cover not life cover)
